miscellany monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
1.  And the countdown begins...to school.  I am amazed that it is already August 1.  I just pulled up the school supply list and it is time to get down to business.  While I love the routine that school brings I am not looking forward to waking the kids up for school daily.

2.  Reading schedule.  One thing that I slacked off on this year is reading through the Bible.  This week I picked the schedule back up to get back into reading (I still read my Bible, I just slacked off on reading through it).  Right now I am doubling up the days so that I can catch up to the schedule soon.  In the picture below you can see how far behind I have gotten:
3.  To tweet or not to tweet?  I have been asking myself this question for a while and decided to try out Twitter.  It takes me a while to adjust to new things so I am still trying to figure it all out...like what the # sign means.  Viv told me to get tweetdeck, so I will have to check that out.  Do any of you tweet, twit...you know what I mean?

4.  Road trip!  My big IKEA road trip with a few of my girlfriends was this past Saturday.  Can I just tell you that this store is overwhelming...but so good.  I'll post more about the entire trip and all of my goodies this week.

Hi Kelli!
I am not looking forward to getting my daughter up early for school either! But, it is nice to have some structure to the week.
I can't wait to see what you got at Ikea!

I am not looking forward to school starting at all. I have really enjoyed this Summer!

We got supply lists and everything a few weeks ago. Got it all ready except we are waiting for Kelsie's lunch box and back pack. I ordered them from the Disney store and they haven't shipped yet. Hopefully it will be sometime this week.

I do tweet...not often, but since I'm diving into blogging head strong, I'm trying to do more of it. I am even going to try and participate in my first twitter party this week. Kinda scared!

I think you will love twitter once you get the hang of it. I have tweetdeck too and LOVE it!

I love Ikea. And I get WAY overwhelmed when I shop there too.

We bought LK's school supplies a week or so ago. I can't believe school will start in a few weeks. It just feels too hot for school.

You aren't that far behind on your reading through the Bible. Good for you to get right back into it. Are you ding BSF this year also?
I don't tweet. It takes me awhile to get use to new things also. I'm not sure if I will pick up tweeting or not.
And I do love to go to Ikea as well. My last trip was a little over a year ago now. I went on a day trip to the one in Ohio. :)

You are brave for trying a new thing! I haven't gotten on twitter yet either. I don't know if I ever will, but we'll see. Have a great week!

When I get to heaven, there will be an IKEA waiting for me. :oP I do believe it is one of my most favorite places--ever. Did you get the chocolate cake?

I can't believe it's August 1 either. Where did summer go? I think I heard it "whoosh" by...:shakes head: We have all Lil's school supplies but her backpack. We have tax-free weekend coming up so I'll get that then. Riddle me this: Why oh why do school supplies go on sale BEFORE tax-free weekend, but are off sale by the time it rolls around? :sigh:

I don't tweet. I don't understand it. I've tried. I just can't wrap my mind around it. Sorry I can't help. :oS

I could have written this same post - minus the IKEA trip! Can you believe we got an IKEA three years ago and I still haven't been?! However, it's one of my must-dos during our annual trip to Boston. I am so weird, I know. One of these days, I'm going to figure out Twitter :) I have an account but I'm still not entirely sure what it's all about. I have a hard enough time keeping up with email/facebook/blog without them consuming my life, ha!

I want to go to IKEA! So fun! Can't wait to hear about it!
I agree with school starting...a schedule is good...the early morning stinks! We like being slow to go in the am right now.
I do not 'tweet' and probably never will...but seems like the way of life these days...so who knows?! :-)
I've been terrible terrible with doing Bible verses and it makes me feel so bad :-(. I have no good excuses, but I hope a schedule will get us all back in the word!

I saw that you were tweeting - # sign means if you are posting about a particular thing (like #backtoschool or #soyouthinkyoucandance) it will organize all the tweets that have that sign together to read- as if you were having a conversation.

If you want to "talk" to someone in particular, use the @ sign - as in @rebeccamdarling you are the coolest bloggy friend!!

It really is fun!
