School Christmas Activities

Jamison has had a few events at school the past two days. She is in the chorus at school and it had a performance last night and then again today. It was so cute to see her on stage singing the songs and doing a few dance moves. It was also nice to hear the songs she has been singing all around the house for weeks.

Here's my princess before the concert last night. They had to wear black bottoms and white tops. They were also instructed to wear a bell...that was Jamison's favorite part of the outfit.

This picture shows the true Jamison...laughing and playing with her hair.

Here she is singing. It was a cute concert and I could tell that her music teacher put a lot of work into making it a success.

Today Jamison's class had its Winter Party. I was there to help with the party and Aunt Roni got to go too! I was so proud to see how well behaved Jamison is in class.

Jamison and I both made something for her teacher:

When we were in Hobby Lobby Jamison saw this S and wanted to get it for Mrs. Schlaegel. Then she saw the wooden star and decided to glue it to the back of the S for Super Schlaegel. She's already learning to be creative!

I made Mrs. Schlaegel a post it note dispenser (I took the picture before I put the post it pad on the frame). I got the idea here. I hope she enjoys it.

How did you wrap up your week?

A Girl After Her Own Style

This morning I was doing Jamison's hair. I decided to put it in one ponytail and let the ends loose so it would be like a puff...like this:

Then Jamison went into the bathroom to get her toothbrush and she came back with the saddest face. I asked her what was wrong and she said "my hair is too big!"

I guess she knows what she likes...or in this case what she doesn't like. I ended up braiding the ponytail. Sweet girl!

It's Her Birthday And I'll Cry If I Want To!

Six years ago today I was in the last day of my first pregnancy. I was pretty nervous because I was going to be induced later in the evening to finally meet my little girl. My dad and Renee were there most of the day and Renee made me a great dinner.

Then it was time. Time for Rondell to take me to the hospital, meet my mom and have a baby. I cried because I was scared, not knowing what to expect.

26 hours later, after a lot of pain, a successful epidural, the shakes, nausea, a fever, plenty of tears and then heading off to surgery, my baby was here. Her eyes were gray and she was so tiny.

I was tired and overwhelmed...completely overwhelmed. This little person belonged to me and I was responsible for her...me (and Rondell).

My mom stayed with us for a few days and I cried when she left. But then my friend Melanie came and she took good care of me, but I was still overwhelmed. This sweet baby girl belonged to me (and Rondell).

Jamison was a beautiful baby...getting more and more beautiful each day. She was so full of energy and just as sweet as she could be. We had rough spots with her frustration because of her speech delay, but overall she was a happy little girl. I can't believe she's 6 today.

My baby...MY baby. That is who she will always be.

I love this little girl more than words can ever express. She's thoughtful, creative, energetic, loving, intelligent and sweet. I cry today from the joy of realizing she's my responsibility. I am grateful that God blessed me (and Rondell) with such a wonderful daughter and I look forward to watching her grow.
Happy Birthday Jamison!

Come to the Party!

Tonight I finished Jamison's invitations to her birthday party. Initially, I was going to have her party at a local place, Young Chef's Academy. They have various parties where the kids cook different items and since Jamison loves to cook I thought it would be a good idea.

Then it hit me that I could do the same thing for less...and the pizza party at Casa de la Kelli was born. We're going to have the kids make their own pizzas and play pin the pepperoni on the pizza. It should be a great time...I'll keep you posted.

Here's what I did:

I went to my Stampin Up! demo's house (hi Lisa) and used a stamp set of hers to stamp out Pizza Party. I love the fact that the letters aren't perfect since it's a child's party. I also used my Cricut to make a curved square.

I also used Lisa's Big Shot (a Stampin Up! tool) to make this shape for the information on the inside. I ended up just writing the information...you know, when, where, time, etc.

I used 3 different circle punches to make the pizza, one for the crust, one for the cheese and a teeny tiny one (also Lisa's) for the pepperoni.
Lisa came up with the idea to cut out a piece of pizza (I'm telling you she inspires me!). I stuck the pizza on the invite using raised adhesive so the pizza stood out.

Here's the finished product! I'm very happy with it and Jamison was very excited to help me put it all together.
I'm also including this on Kimba's DIY...see others here.
