To Do Thursday!

I'm excited about this week.  I accomplished the big put-off-for-too-long project...yes, the nightstand and side of the bed are C.L.E.A.N.

1.  Clean around bed and nightstand.  DONE!  I know you're dying to see:

Here's the nightstand.  This is my punishment for taking so long, showing you the before.  I still have a bit of a problem with not taking my cups downstairs in the morning.

Here's the floor...gasp, I know!  As you can see this has really, really been neglected and at the end of the day I end up just leaving stuff here (or the kids leave stuff here) or if I'm cleaning out another area this is where the overflow ends up.

Here's the drawer of the nightstand.  This needed some love too.

Here's the after...oh JOY!  I keep a towel on my nightstand because of the condensation from my ice water I have every evening.  Soon, I'd love to make a cute coaster like this and lose the towel.  I would also like one of these to put my jewelry in at night.

Here's the floor...I can see the floor!!!!  I kept a basket under the nightstand for books that I'm reading and a Bible.  Now they have a place so they're not scattered.

Here's the drawer all cleaned out.  I might get little bowls (like the ones linked above) or something to keep the smaller items in, but I haven't decided.  I'm just glad that I can find things so much faster now.
2.  Clean under sink in 1/2 bath...FAIL...I know!

3.  Put up Fall decorations...DONE!  I did realize that I don't have as much as I thought.  I might have to catch some after-Fall sales.

4.  Make this dessert recipe...DONE!  It was a hit and now Rondell is inspired to make a full cheesecake out of it.

5.  Have a date with Rondell...DONE!  On Friday we ordered my favorite pizza and watched a few shows we had on DVR.  It wasn't fancy, but we really got to enjoy each other's company and it was well worth the night in...with no kids :)

This Week's To Do List

1.  Power wash the front porch (thanks Amber for letting us borrow the power washer).

2.  Go to our favorite farm store for apple cider.

3.  Clean under sink in 1/2 bath...I know.

4.  Tackle the corner in my room...yes, the room again.  There's a lot of work to be done in there.

You are a brave woman. I would NEVER show a before pic of my nightstand! EGAD! If you'd see it RIGHT NOW, you'd understand. I clean it up about once a week but can't for the life of me keep it that way. Mine has three drawers, so you can only imagine!
Yours looks great! :) Glad you had a nice date night with Rondell, too. That's always a good thing. :)

Great job, Kelli! There is a lot of work to be done in our room too. It seems like it's the place everyone's stuff gathers :( Once we move into the new house, that will no longer happen.

AWESOME!! You got the nightstand done!!!! :o)

How long did I put off working on those silly clothing tubs? I fell ya. :oP

I still have to move them to the appropriate rooms and closets, though. :oS

This coming week sees me needing to steam clean the carpets. Joy.

WAY TO GO KELI!!! Wowzas does your night stand area ever rock! I am happy for you and proud of you for your perserverence! The peace of mind that comes with organization is truly priceless.

You had a fantastic week chickie, and you've inspired me to finish my room too. It's been nearly done for a month now...I'm going to finish it this weekend.
I'm thinking I will try that cheesecake too, it sure does look wonderful.

I hope you get your list checked off this week...you always get some things done...even one thing is better than none, in my opinion ;)

I think the change of seasons is motivating to get things cleaned up. I too have been slowly chipping away at areas of my house that I would NEVER photograph for anyone to see. Great job!

Good for you! You got a lot done....I giggled everytime you wrote, "i know" after the under the sink. Hehe. :-) I know that same feeling.

Yum, apple cider! Ohhh...I don't have near the decorations that I'd like to have. Maybe I'll catch some of those sales too!

Look at your new organized nightstand and floor space!! It looks great.
And I applaud you for sharing your honest before pictures. Everybody has messes in their house, but not everybody is honest about it. I am a big fan on honesty. :) And organization.

Have a great weekend Kelli.

Your nightstand looks GREAT! I love a before and after like that. My whole house is a "before" right now. With Ben always gone and homeschooling, I can barely keep my head above water. I even decided not to decorate for fall because "why bother". I am not really as depressed as that sounded though. I finally started keeping coasters on our nightstands too..for the water. And Ben is the one who accumulates cups!
