miscellany monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1.  I had a jewelry party this weekend and it was such a fun time.  I'm always nervous to have those kind of parties for fear that no one will come, but it was a great turn out.  I made vegetable pizza, buffalo chicken dip and these (and by me I mean Rondell...he's the baker in the family).  It was nice to have a little get together, chat, eat, and look at cute jewelry.

2.  Do you know that it's October already!  I realize that I need to start working on my Christmas cards...yes, Christmas cards.  Some people have theirs done already, so I'm behind.  Since I made them it takes a little bit of time to get them done.
3.  I am officially the mom of an elementary school student...fundraisers have begun.  Between Girl Scouts and the PTA my family and friends may be tired of seeing me :)  This week we got a packet for wrapping paper.

4.  Rainy Sunday naps really are the best!

I am always anxious about hosting those parties as well. Typically, one of us hosts a party and then we all book from one another and then we HAVE to attend, because well, they came to ours. Make sense?

Go Rondell, those bars look AWESOME! :o)

Christmas cards? Yeah, I don't do those until the end of November. Seriously. I make a fairly simple card, and then make 60 copies of it...Oy. ;o)

Finally, rainy Sundays are the best...if you aren't traveling home in them. :oP

Happy Monday!

Ahhhh! I need to start designing our Christmas cards, too. AND birth announcements. That way all I have to do is add pictures and send them off to the printer. So much to do, so little time... :)
Rainy naps are definitely best!

Aw...we had a rainy Saturday...and I took a wonderful nap too! Love those days :)

I'm so glad you had a great party! I've never hosted one, but I love going to them! And those cheesecake bars look delicious! Rondell is so good to bake! I will have to try those!

I'm not a good fundraising parent...I'm not good at selling those things, but I try to buy a little on our own. It's that time of year!

Happy monday!

I hear ya on the fundraising. I know people want to ignore the ringing phone when my number pops up on the ID and pretend the doorbell isn't ringing when they peek out the window and see me standing there!
Glad your party went well! :) Those are always fun times.

Yay! Glad you had a good turnout for your jewelry party. Yummy food! Wish I lived closer :)

I am already stressing a little bit about the holidays. I had grand plans this year to be proactive about Christmas family photos and cards but those plans have been changed. I'm still hopeful that I can get ahead of the game but it's not looking good at the moment. I just have to keep reminding myself that "Jesus is the reason for the season" - none of the things that I am sressing about are THAT important!

Ugh, we are just being introduced to fundraisers. The school Noah is at is a public school but it is a neighborhood school (meaning it's literally right in the middle of a neighborhood) and much smaller than most public schools. It essentially functions like a private school which was enticing to us but is turning out to be a nightmare in the fundraising department! It's a good thing for two grandmas who act like they're happy to support the cause ;)

Naps are the best no matter the day!!!!

Rainy Sunday naps are the best! Glad you got one!

I am always afraid no one will come to a party like that either. Glad yours was a great turnout. :)

How fun that your hubby is the baker! I'm so glad your party turned out well. I'm always nervous about that too :)

I've been thinking about Christmas cards too. It sneaks right up, doesn't it?

I just need to go on record and say that I hate fundraisers! I'm an upstanding member of the PTA and I know that fundraisers are useful and provide much needed funds to the schools, but I still hate them! LOL.

Glad your jewelry party was fun!

Hope you have a great week!!♥

UGH the dreaded wrapping paper!!! That is why our PTA doesn't do fundraisers....we have a donation drive to avoid selling all the junk and we have made double what we do selling stuff!!!!

Christmas cards...ugghhh! We are having some professional pics taken in November, I think I will just be lazy and use a good shot for a card this year...you are so good to make yours.

Have a great week Kelli!

Kelli, sounds like your party was a blast! I too wish I lived closer, I so would have been there!
I have to decide on my Christmas cards yet, I know I want to stamp some, but I might do photos of my boys too. Decisions, decisions.
I'm waiting on Ev's fundraiser to begin, his school sells pies for the holidays...that and cookie dough.
/agree about rainy Sunday naps. *sigh* talk about heavenly.

Kelli... I love your Monday nonsense! It always encourages me, because you are so real!

I can ONLY imagine what you CHristmas cards will look like... adorable. You are not alone, however, I haven't even given it a thought. Add it to the list.

I know what you mean about hosting the parties. Donnie hates the parties as I always get so stressed out by the prep work. So I always attend but don't host the parties.
We always do family photos for our Christmas cards so that will have to wait but I have started thinking about Christmas shopping.
Hope you are having a great day!

No doubt your Christmas cards will be wonderful Kelli! :)

Question: Do you have some examples you could post of Christmas cards you've done OR do you know of any websites others could go to to get some ideas? I'm crafty, but not as inventive as I'd like to be. I see an idea and can copy it well though. :)

Just curious!
