Thanking God on Friday

* I am thankful for family. The kids are visiting their grandparents up north, Nana and Papa D, this weekend. I'm thankful that they are willing to take on the kiddies for a weekend. Also, my cousin Amber and her best friend Kiana are coming to visit this weekend for their annual "go to Kelli's and do nothing trip." Seriously. This tradition started 6 years ago when they decided to come and visit when I was 8 months pregnant with Jamison. I was so sick that we ended up not doing anything and they LOVED it. They loved not being on a schedule and being able to relax. So, that's what they do every year...they come to stay with us and we do nothing. We play games, watch movies, have ice cream and chill out. This year we are going to go to the Ohio State Fair, but just to eat.

* I'm thankful for the bond I have with Rondell. Two weeks ago we turned in Rondell's car (he had a lease) and started going with just one car to aggressively attack some bills. Because of this we've had to come together to really make our new arrangement work (we already car pool to work so it wasn't that much of a change in that sense). I think because Rondell and I are able to work well together (because of our bond) that this will go smoothly for the next few months that we're down to one car.

* I'm thankful for good friends. I went to my friend Tonya's house this week because I needed to talk. She listened and advised and it was wonderful. She even made strawberry shortcake!

Tonya and I last summer.

* I'm thankful that my meal that I talked about in the post below turned out OK. I will make it again and probably add other seasons to make it really fitting for my taste. It was also really easy...nice!

Great list! We recently talked about trying to make it with just one car for a while...but we weren't sure how it would work! I'm glad your dinner turned out well....it sounded really yummy!

What wonderful grandparents! I know that my daddy and mother (when she was alive) used to take Kayla every summer for two weeks. It was a great chance for them to bond and then a nice chance for just Zack and I to spend time together. (this was before Kelsie was born)

I like doing nothing too! Have fun at the fair...Oh I'd love to have a funnel cake! *smiles*

Thanks for the comment today- I think we all just love PW so much and want to be her best friend... she must just either love or hate that. I bet she loves it... Who wouldn't?

Girlfriends are the best! I love that you have a stay in and relax tradition with friends! So often we feel obliged to do something in order to entertain, when the reality is that the entertainment comes from just being with people we enjoy.
I'm so glad you and R get to carpool and you do it well. :) I am a backseat driver and do not hesitate to tell my Hubs that he's "doin' it wrong!" (Not fun in our car sometimes!)
The Fair. You know how I like the Fair.

Love the idea of a "do nothing" get together. ;) I love just hanging out. We did a lot of that at my sister's last week.
