Friend Makin Monday

Hello Friends. This week's FMM is hosted by yours truly...can you believe it?!?! The wonderful Kasey trusted me to host her fabulous event where we get to make new friends and get to know one another a little bit better.

If you're new here or need a refresher on the rules and such go here!

So, here's today's subject:

Tell us about your BFF...where did you meet, was it BFF at first sight, how long have you been friends, etc.

What makes him/her your BFF...what is it about this person that makes him/her so special to you?

My BFF...Rondell. I know, so cliche...but it's true.

Growing up I had best friends, Tiffany Mitchell was the first (she moved and I still miss her). But as time went on I didn't have that one friend who knew me inside and out, who I was inseparable with, who I was her best friend...I just didn't. Then came Rondell:

We met at OSU in the dorm my freshman year, his sophomore year. We became fast friends and I think that is the glue to our marriage...that we were good friends first. We spent a lot of time together just hanging out before we started dating and realized that we had a lot in common.

What makes Ron my BFF is that I am most comfortable with him. I can tell him anything! I'm hardly ever embarrassed in front of him and he appreciates me for all of my quirkiness, the need for notebooks, colored pens, etc. Yes, we have things in common, yes we're married, but the fact that I can be completely open with him is the thing that most stands out. If something exciting happens, he's the first person I want to call...if I'm sad, he's the shoulder that I cry on. I love you Rondell.

Now, just so I'm not too cheesy...I would say my closest friend besides Rondell is Marja.

Marja and I met my freshmen year at OSU as well. She said that I was mean to her but I don't believe that. Right before our junior year we decided to get an apartment together and that's when our bond got stronger. We had a whole new bonding experience while she was pregnant with her daughter and during her labor. I was her labor coach, Mila's dad was out of town, and that was fun for me to go through that experience. Helping her through labor was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done and I'm still honored that she had me in that role.

Marja is another person I can tell anything to. She's that friend that will not judge you, but will keep it real all at the same time. We can relate with one another on many different subjects and issues. Marja is also the one who introduced me to my church, and for that I will be forever grateful.

So, there you have it...my BFFs. I can't wait to here all about yours.

I'll just tell you about my BFFs real quick here in the comment section. I may post this tomorrow, but in case I don't get to it, here you go :-)

My first BFF is Meredith (at Therapeutic Ramblings). We've been friends since junior year in college when her fiance (now husband) and my boyfriend (now husband) were roommates. The 4 of us were inseparable those 2 years of college. We even moved to Washington to be close to them! We are still BFFs, the 4 of us and I thank God for their friendship.

My other BFF is someone who's been my friend since the very first day of kindergarten. So we've been friends for 28 years! She lives in Virginia now so we don't see each other very much, but I love her dearly and she will always be a special friend.
