The Simple Woman's Daybook - August 17, 2009

For today...

Outside my window...sunny and muggy. There are supposed to be storms today and the last time I looked it is supposed to rain all week.

I am thinking...I actually have a few things on my mind...friends who are dealing with difficult issues, errands I need to run today, my headache that won't go away.

I am thankful for...my flexible job. I have a few things to do this week with Jamison's school and I am thankful that I'm able to leave work early or come in later.

From the kitchen...check out my menu for the week here.

I am reading...nothing. I haven't picked up any books, but I plan to do that this week.

I am praying...for some friends who are dealing with difficult situations and for some guidance with decisions Rondell and I have to make regarding our Small Group.

I am creating...I finished my magnets (post to come tomorrow) and I love the way they turned out. Next I'd like to see if I can make the invitations for Jamison's birthday party. I'm going to a Stampin Up workshop on Friday to get some ideas from experienced crafters!

Around the house...chaos. I'm really working on cleaning out and organizing and so things are a little crazy right now. Anyone have any tips on a good label maker?

One of my favorite things...ice cream. Last night we went to Dairy Queen and I had a Thin Mint Blizzard. Yum.

A few plans for the rest of the week...Tonight we have an open house at Jamison's school. Because of overcrowding, 1st grade is going to be held in a different school this year (it's right across the parking lot from her actual school). Jamison went to this school for preschool so she's pretty familiar, but we want to go to the open house to check out the classroom and meet the other students.

Thursday Jamison's very best friend Hannah comes over to spend the night. This is the first time we've had a child spend the night so this should be interesting. I'm a little nervous and of course Jamison is thrilled.

Friday I go to the Stampin Up workshop to craft and have some fun.

Yummm! That blizzard looks so stinkin' good. Saw a commercial last night for that and the tag-a-long one. Oh my! Now, if only I weren't allergic to wheat...

We've never had a sleepover here, either, but Emily has stayed with a friend before! Can't wait to hear about it ;)

What a great day book entry. I enjoy reading this every week. I will have to participate one week. I think we must be right along the same weather line as it is suppose to rain all week here.
Also thanks for posting about the FMM, I have been wondering what was going on with that. I thought I had totally missed something.
Have a great Monday!

Ooh! I can't wait to see your magnets and I hope that you have lots of fun at your Stampin' Up! party. I'm having my monthly card making night on Thursday and we'll be making kid-friendly birthday cards. So much fun!!

Have a great week...hope it doesn't rain ALL week. It's supposed to be in the 90's here in NW Oregon!

Whew! I'm all caught up...let's hope I don't take so long next time to check in. Your e-mail inbox was probably really full from me. ;)
