Tackle it Tuesday

I'm going to start holding myself accountable here for things that I need to get done in order to be as organized as I would like. I have all of these things in my head, all of these lists, I admire other people's organization skills...now I need some action.

So, tonight I started with the piles and piles of stuff I had in my kitchen, living room and dining room. I had five places that I needed to tackle where things were just getting out of control...the kitchen counter, the top of the microwave, the top of the fridge, the dining room table and the top of the entertainment center. I found...newspapers, coupon, art work, scribble pages, pictures, mail, junk mail, money, earrings, books, catalogs...it was a mess, kind of. See my wonderful aunt takes all of my junk and puts it in these lovely piles, so it doesn't look so bad...but when you look closer and dive into the piles, that's when you see the danger!

I threw away two brown paper bags full of stuff. I gave Jamison her items to take to her room, put all of Rondell's stuff in a bag and put it on his side of our room, put books away, cut coupons and put them in my haven't-seen-you-in-a-while menu planning notebook, so on and so forth.

So, now it's nice and clean and things are put away. It's tackled. Onto...Jamison's closet (the stuff I didn't get to while working on her art center)...duhn, duhn, duhn!

What are you tackling? Head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom to see what others are doing.

Okay...I must be alot like your aunt! I make piles of stuff too! It just seems more organized if it is piled up, even if it isn't clean! My kitchen is a wreck right now, but I haven't been feeling great so I am just ignoring it for now! Way to go on getting organized...I may get to mine one day!

That's fantastic. I need to tackle some stuff today too but I'll need to get off the computer to do it.

Good For You! It sounds like you have done a lot. Our counter seems to be a catch all too! I hate that and it drives me crazy.

Well done, Kel!!! Paperwork clutter is the very worst!

Today I am clipping coupons and headed to the grocerey store. I am also on the trail of a pair of jeans for Hubs before Gap ends the sale on Thursday. (I hate shopping) and I am starting to stage items to pack for our camping trip.

It's not really housework, but I've been scanning in old photos all day. My goal for the year is to get all of our old photos (before digital) scanned into the computer so we can make sure we have them forever. It's time consuming but worth it!
Good luck with your list!

Wonderful job. I totally had to do the major cleaning this spring.
These past couple of weeks I have been trying to tackle my out of control photos. Thanks to the babysitter I think I am about to master the task.
Once again keep up the good work!

Can you come visit my house now? I could use your "tackle it tuesday" energy to get rid of my stacks!

Hooray for your accomplishment -- that must feel great!
