Summer Suspense Reading

This summer, in addition to the books that I'm reading, I've decided to read about the life of David in the Bible. I've said this before, I'm not familiar with a lot of stories in the Bible but with BSF I've developed more knowledge by actually studying the Bible. So, my challenge this summer is for me to read 1 Samuel - 1 Kings.

This morning I finished reading 1 Samuel, and let me tell you...there's some drama in there. There's war, jealousy, friendship bond, betrayal...all the things you need in a suspenseful reading. I found myself talking out loud, skipping to see what happens next and of course learning some lessons along the way.

One verse that I really liked:

"...The Lord doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7

We studied Samuel in Sunday School for a couple of months and it was just like a soap opera going on in the biblical days. Drama has always went on ever since the beginning of time.

There are some great/interesting stories in the Bible.
