And So it Begins...

Out of the mouth of Jamison:

"You love Caleb and not me!"

Here's the background...Jamison had a bad day at school, not listening, interrupting, and not participating. When the kids at school don't behave they move to different levels, red being the worst. Well, because of this Jamison got a red day. The rule in our house is if you get a red day then there is no TV.

Well Caleb wanted to watch Cars so we set up the portable DVD player in the kitchen so he could still watch his movie...and that's when she said the above comment.

I can't believe we are at that point already. Jamison and I had a talk about how I will alwayschoices love her no matter what color day she has and that she had a red day because of the that she made.

And Mr. Caleb. He's just growing up too fast and becoming all boy. He's trying to talk in full sentences (even if I'm the only one who understands them).

Here he is watching Cars with his Lightening McQueen. Too cute!

I like how you were consistent with the consequences-that shows love right there!

One day she will understand and appreciate it! Red Days are hard on everyone, aren't they?!

I got my fun package in the mail today -- LOVE IT! Writing about it now. Thanks so much, Kelli!

I love how you handled that! Bravo Mom! Other parents might have gotten defensive or possibly caved in. Hope she has a better day tomorrow.

We are learning with Trey give a consequence and then follow through. We are also huge fans of cars, but I guess you could have guessed that. You guys sound like great parents!

Sometimes the consequences we set are harder on us than they are on the kids, huh? It'd be so easy to cave...good for you for not doing so.
Hopefully today is a better day!

Way to go Kel! It can be hard to be consistent, but it'll pay off in the end. I love opprotunities to be consistent at home, even if it means an unhappy kiddo, but it's better than the "out in public" consistency situations! Gotta love the ones in the grocery store when all the little old ladies are watching, thinking you're abusing your kid or something by making him sit in the cart! =)

Oh, I'm sure that was so hard to hear! I'm going through some hard times with Mikayla and she's only THREE! I'm hoping that as she gets older I can learn to adjust my parenting techniques. It's exhausting some days!! Hope she had a better day today!

My kids ALWAYS think I love the others more.

But my brothers and I still argue over who was the favorite of us!

You are such a good mom, and I know she will look back and appreciate the things you taught her.
