miscellany monday - first edition

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. This is my first time participating in Carissa's linky party. I thought I'd try something new and this always looks so interesting. Plus I think Carissa is a sweetheart and would love to support her.

2. Being at home sick today is not doing well for my addiction to soap operas. I had it down to just Y&R (can you believe the Phyllis is leaving Nick?), but then today...while on the couch I got sucked back into As the World Turns. Why is Holden marrying Molly, why is Katie a widow...who died, is Lily in cahoots with Craig, and why are there so many bad hair weaves? I need this headache to go away so I can get back on the wagon of only ONE soap.

3. So when you see LOL, do you say "laugh out loud" or "LOL"...I say LOL.

4. I just realized that Jamison has six more weeks until school starts...SIX. I have to start getting school clothes and supplies pronto. And I also want to make her another bookbag tag like I did last year (see it here).

5. Note: Don't let your child eat lunch before entering a pool. It could result in your child choking on water (like when they put their mouth under and get a little gulp of water) and then vomiting in said pool...and getting the evil eye as the pool has to be shut down because of this. Not cool!

Link up and show us your random...here (or click the button that I just discovered how to add!)

Ooooh...it was my first time linking up with miscellany monday too! :-)

Hope you get to feeling better soon!!!

Hahaha...bad hair weaves and all the soap opera stuff...I don't watch them at all. I just can't ever get into any of them. I have tried but it's bad camera angles, the off color that soaps seem to be in and everything else. But I did watch Passions when it was on...Yea, I know the worst one ever. haha.

Oh, yea we start back in a few weeks. I have most all of Kelsie's clothes except for red uniform shirts and new shoes. We got her back pack, lunch box and supplies the other day. Still gotta finish Kayla's uniform shopping, new shows, and supplies. I dread seeing what middle schoolers need!

I say LOL...although funny story...I have been known to actually "say" LOL in a conversation before instead of laughing! HAHA!

Oh no! Not cool about the pool. OOooh...not sure why they would close the pool down..how long? I mean just for clean up or for the rest of the day? We keep enough chlorine in ours that any germs from it would probably be instantly killed. {or at least I would think}

What a great post. I might have to link up next week. I have read so many of these posts today, it looks like a blast.
I am so with you on the soaps. I am a fan of Days of our Lives. I put it on the DVR so I can fast forward through it. I can usually get it done within 30 mins. Isn't that sad.
I hope you get to feeling better soon.

How fun! And LOL {that's L~O~L for me too} on the bad hair weaves on soaps. Too funny! I watched them for awhile right after Sierra was born. Now I don't watch them at all, but my mom has watched As The World Turns and Guiding Light {is that even on anymore?} since she was a teen!

I hope you are feeling better today! I had to LOL at the swimming pool comment! My kiddos are really bad about swallowing water and then gagging....we are always on alert and can usually get them out of the pool before they actually start throwing up!
I'm not a big soap opera fan, but my mom LOVES them!

Oh my goodness! So much randomness makes my heart happy. :oP

LOL is "laugh out loud" to me.

I finally kicked the Soaps habit in college (it was a struggle, though and GH was the last one I gave up, although Days of Our Lives was the one I watched the longest--my Granny would watch it so I started that one when I was seven...).

OMGoodness! I can't imagine the horror of a kiddo throwing-up in the pool. Eek!! And, it did make me LOL. :oP

I hope you're feeling better today! :o)

oh my goodness...i can't believe that people looked at a child wierd for vomitting...not cool. kids can't help it.

I love Y&R too and think she is crazy for leaving Nick. I would never leave Nick...he's a cutie pie!

6 weeks...crazy summer is going way too fast!

LOL! haha! I say LOL too! I stopped watching Days of Our Lives and got sucked back in lately too...it's so ridiculous though...and i can't watch it too much with the kids around because it can even get a little inappropriate! Emily asked me once if it was 'real' haha!

Hope you are feeling better...and sorry to hear about the pool incident! Those things happen!

yikes on school so soon, I know! We've told Emily that if she can start staying in her own bed since school is about to start...for two weeks, she can get her ears peirced! I'm more excited than she is! I think she'll do it...we've waited too long to enforce this, but it will be a good reason to get her to do it!
Take care!
