Amber has another great Fall topic this week: Fall Shows! We are to name the Fall shows that we are looking forward to. Here's my list:
Now I know this is not a Fall show because it doesn't start until January (they're killin me!), but since it is my favorite and most anticipated show of the year I had to put it on the list:
I'm a little later than I wanted to be, but here's what we had for dinner this evening: Taco Ring. I mainly got this recipe from my Pampered Chef recipe book. Their recipe calls for brushing the ring with egg whites, but I never do that.
Here's what my ring looked like before going into the oven.
I went to my Stampin Up! demo's house (hi Lisa) and used a stamp set of hers to stamp out Pizza Party. I love the fact that the letters aren't perfect since it's a child's party. I also used my Cricut to make a curved square.
I also used Lisa's Big Shot (a Stampin Up! tool) to make this shape for the information on the inside. I ended up just writing the information...you know, when, where, time, etc.
I used 3 different circle punches to make the pizza, one for the crust, one for the cheese and a teeny tiny one (also Lisa's) for the pepperoni.
Here's the finished product! I'm very happy with it and Jamison was very excited to help me put it all together.
For the past couple of days and nights Rondell and I have worked really hard to get our basement clean and organized. There was a lot of sweat, sneezing, jumping (from the spiders) and laughter. We are so happy to have it done overall, even though there are a few things that need to be tweaked.
Here's the before. There was stuff EVERYWHERE! Since we've lived in this house the basement has just kind of become a dumping ground. It was out of control and a major tackle.
First we tackled this section under the stairs. There was all kinds of stuff under here...light bulbs, floor tile, boxes... We cleaned it out and decided to put boxes that we want to keep in this space. Right above it is Rondell's shelf. I love my husband, but man does he have a lot of stuff. So, this allows him to have a space for his stuff (notice, it's a limited space...hee, hee).
This is what will eventually be my beautiful craft area. We basically just put all things craft on this table and Rondell moved a bookshelf next to it so that I can have space for my growing hobby. It's not my dream space, but it's mine! Wait, maybe it's me that has a lot of stuff and not Rondell...nah!
This is stuff that we're going to donate (you can also see the shelf that Rondell moved next to my craft table). We put more stuff there after I took this picture but basically we needed an area to put this kind of stuff. The toys will most likely go to our church's nursery and we'll donate the clothes and household items to charity...then this space will be empty!!!!
We combined some coolers (there are a couple of smaller coolers inside this big cooler) and put them in the garage.
This is when we started to get excited because we could see the floor.
Here are my shelves under the stairs...all organized. This is my holiday stuff. The bottom shelf has all things Christmas. The shelf above that has a Fall container, a Halloween container (because they're different you know), and my Valentine's Day and Easter decorations.
Even the laundry area got a face lift. Rondell had all of his painting stuff over here and it had to go. I just need to scrub the sink and maybe get a fun sign.
Rondell vacuumed each and every shelf. You can kind of see the wrapping paper, etc. shelf.
Here are the other shelves. The bottom shelf has all things painting. Just above that I have serving dishes that I don't use on a regular basis. To the left of the shelves is a bunch of stuff that needs to be thrown away but our trash can is full, so that has to wait.
Continuing with the shelves...this shelf has my cookie tins (in the blue bin) and cake and pie items.
My birthday. OK, so maybe this IS #1 because I love my birthday (it's November 8 if you want to mark your calendars). I don't need a big to-do, but I enjoy hanging with friends and doing some of my favorite things.
Going to the pumpkin patch. I love the hay rides, the treats, and picking out pumpkins. We have gone to a lot of different patches over the years and each one has been a great time.
I kind of took this from Angie, but I love it too...the cool breeze through the windows. I'm feeling it right now as it's about to rain and it is just so relaxing and peaceful. I love fresh air coming into my house (and the reduced electric bill is nice too!)
Apple cider. Each year we drive to a little town south of year to get apple cider. It is delicious and not like what they sell in the grocery stores. Having a nice glass of cold apple cider screams fall to me.
I boiled my chicken breasts for about 15 minutes and shredded. I cut up about 8 flour tortillas into squares and lined them in my glass dish. Then I sauteed (don't you just love that word) about a 1/4 of an onion (longer next time). I added a can of diced chilies, about a block and a 1/2 of cream cheese, a few spoonfuls of sour cream (sorry, I didn't measure) along with some spices (garlic, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes and chili powder). After the cream cheese melted I added my chicken to let it all warm through and then added it on top of my tortillas.
I topped it with cheese (cheddar and Monterey jack) and baked at 350 for about 20 minutes. It was yummy!
I'm not sure if I like it. I have to let it sit and see how I feel. I think I should have left off the sticker at the bottom. I also don't know if I like the colors of the lettering. Overall I want it to say Destin at the top and then have a picture of our view from our condo's balcony. I'm pretty simple so I would like it to be simple as well with a few embellishments. This is where I get slightly frustrated because I love doing stuff like this but I'm not overly creative...the ideas don't just come to me. I might look online and see what else I can find. I'll keep you posted on this little project.

Hanging out with these ladies (and their husbands and kids). We had a great Small Group gathering...it was really a highlight. It was fun to catch up and laugh. 
Orange Kool Aid (and other flavors too). When I was off for a few days in August Aunt Roni let me try some of her Kool Aid and I was instantly hooked. It took me back to childhood! I bought a few packs on my last grocery trip.
First Day of First Grade! I am just so proud of my big girl and I love her enthusiasm about school. I loved being able to take off and be there for her first day. I pray this is a good start to a great year.
Daniel. I know I talk about it a lot, but it's just that good. I have enjoyed this study completely.
