To Do Thursday!

I've decided to hold myself accountable. There are so many things that I want to do and for some reason I've been slacking. I've done posts about doing 101 Things, Loving My Home Again, etc and I need to get on the ball.

So I've decided to make To Do lists here on Thursdays and then report back the following Thursday with how I did and then new To Do items. Some things may be small, some things may be more time consuming...but I need to stop looking at other blogs and saying "oh, I want to do that" and just DO that.

Gotta FOCUS...that is my word this year so I should be using it.

This Week's To Do List:

1. Clean up my piles. Remember I did this once before...well, it's out of control again. This time I need to figure out a plan to keep our house pile-free.

2. Find the picture frame that I want to use to hang a sunflower picture in my bathroom (it's somewhere in the basement).

3. Gather all of my recipes, discard ones I don't want, pick one to make this month & start thinking about how I want to put them together in a recipe binder.

4. Put down the rest of the mulch.

5. Clean out Jamison's closet (#3 on my 101 list)

So, I'll be back next Thursday with an update and a new list. Wish me luck!

This is such a great way to motivate yourself to get some stuff done! Maybe I should do something like this for exercising and eating right:)

I think that is a great idea. I love to do lists. Not when they are full, but I love them to keep me on track. Great list. You can do it.

Kelli - good job on tackling these... it's always so hard and can become overwhelming. remember the old adage - Q.how do you eat an elephant? A.one bite at a time!

a little tip on the pile thing... and I know it sounds basic - but if you practice this it really works.... when you have something in your hand - don't add it to the pile - take to to where it needs to go and deal with it. if you put it in the pile - you have to deal with it twice. once to put it on the pile - and a second to do something with it.

If you can practice that and remind yourself - handle it once - it helps.

good luck - you CAN do it!

I keep saying "i want to do _____" and then never get around to it. Something always comes up, I forget, etc. I should really get to work on my own to do lists and try to keep at them! Good luck!!

Oh, put me down for a To Do list too! I'm terrible...I have tons to get done! It really means more when you hold yourself accountable, but it sure is so hard! Best wishes...I know you'll get alot done, even if it's not all of it. Every little bit helps, that's for sure! :)

I love lists to tackle! I need to do something like this on a weekly basis...might be more attainable that way! I'm so good at keeping myself organized with my job so I just need to apply that to my personal life :)

Happy Friday!

If you want the ultimate in cleaning try Flylady! Her philosophy of "baby stepping" has worked wonders for me. Like Jaydee said deal with things as you use them. My mother always said never start another project until you clean up from the last. Not that I do!!!! Good luck-I'm still in the garage cleaning up after 4 children and a husband. Proud to say a dumpster is almost full and I have made a trip to Goodwill!
