The Simple Woman's Daybook - Monday, June 21, 2010

For today...

Outside my window...
sunny and warm...this afternoon it will be close to 90.

I am thinking...about my To Do list. I'm trying to plan out when I'm going to do each item so that I can be successful this week.

I am praying...for FOCUS. It is my word for 2010 (here) and I need to make sure that I'm focusing (ha, ha) on it.

I am thankful...that our God-daughter Jewel called Rondell yesterday to wish him a Happy Father's Day. It was so nice to talk to her since we've kind of lost touch over the years. We realized that we don't live too far from one another and she and her mom are going to stop by tomorrow...we are excited!

Pondering these words... Caleb: "Ooh Mommy (looking at the skirt I had on), you look like Sleeping Beauty." I just love him.

I am reading...the same as last week...Isaiah and Bitter is the New Black. Things are starting to slow down so I should have more time to read this week.

From the kitchen...key lime pie! It was so easy and so tasty. Here's what I did:

Mix 1/2 cup of key lime juice (I found it in the juice aisle), 3 egg yolks, and a 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk.
Add to graham cracker pie crust (store bought).
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
Let cool and refrigerate.
Simple and delicious!

A few plans for the rest of the week...see my God-daughter tomorrow, work on my To Do list, make a few magnets (I'm still missing some months from the time I made them here), and go see Toy Story 3 with Ron and the kids.

What about you...what's in your daybook?

Have fun at the movie. It is super cute...but bring tissues.
Good luck with the to do list too. I am working on mine too.

So funny- I am just finishing Bitter too. I like it but not a book I can't put down, ya know??

First off, I'm making this pie next weekend!! I can't wait.

I have got a to do list for today...not pretty..lot's on it. Gotta get it done, because I've started Christmas shopping and I have got to get our closet ready for storing all of it.

Have fun with your God-daughter!

Ohh...we're planning on seeing Toy Story 3 next Friday. We were going to see it this past Friday but went to the beach instead...so it will be next week when Zack is off again. I'm loving his every other Fridays off, I hope they continue this during the Fall and Winter.

Caleb comments are so cute. Don't we wish we felt the way that our kids see us, perfect in every way. I can't wait to see Toy Story 3, we are hoping to see it at the drive in so we all can go.
Hope you have a great Monday!

Awe, what a sweet boy! The mommy-son relationship is beyond special :) Good luck with your to-do list. I think I've already given up on mine this week. It feels insurmountable. Those magnets are super cute. They would make a really cute gift too. Thanks for the idea. Have a great week ahead!

Hi Kelli!
Thank you for the key lime recipe!!!! If I make it, I'll give you props-
This is right up our alley!
90 degrees-sounds lovely...
and that comment from
Caleb? The best ever for moms! How sweet is that!
I may have a bad hair day, a "feeling fat" day, and my boys tell me how lovely I am-it makes life beautiful!

It has been so hot here lately. Mid 90's for the past few weeks! YUM! That pie sounds so good...I love yummy citrus-y stuff! We took the boys to see Toy Story 3 this weekend. It was really good.
