The Simple Woman's Daybook - Monday, April 19, 2010

For today...

Outside my window...
sunny and cool. We have a frost advisory this morning.

I am thinking...about my work To Do list.

I am thankful...for all of your sweet comments on this post.

I am praying...for my children...that I listen to God's guidance to raise them to be God-loving and well-rounded little people.

I am wearing...orange...so Spring-like.

I am reading...2 Kings...and man, it is hard to get through. Luckily I found a chart (here) where I can keep track of all of the Kings of Israel/Judah.

On my mind...Destin, Florida!

From the kitchen...I would like to try and tackle homemade pizza again (we didn't get to this last week) and yesterday Rondell and I made chocolate chip cookies...yum!

Around the house...LOTS of work done in the yard over the weekend. We split and replanted hosta, pulled 1001 weeds, mowed the grass (well, Ron did that), clipped dead daffodils, raked, added top soil to some flower beds that needed some serious love, added pavers around two flower beds...it looks so much better already. I'll show you some of our progress this week.

A few plans for the rest of the week...BSF tonight (only a few more to go), more yard work and create a Destin check list.

What's in your daybook?

The weather was in the 80's last week, and we open our pool tomorrow, and now it's cool out! Yay, Destin! It's getting so close! I know you're excited! I pulled about a 1000 weeds the other day...and have about a 1000 more still! We did absolutely nothing yesterday, but nice to do that sometimes :) Enjoy the weather and have a great week! I have a busy one ahead!

I don't think I have any orange clothes...it is such a fun color though! I know you are excited about vacation:) I'm excited for you! We did a ton of stuff inside this weekend, including repainting our living room and getting a new couch!

It has been so hot here...frost, wow! Guess that's a Northern weather thing, this late in the game. : )

I have got to get back out in my yard for sure and start getting the rest of the mulch done and other little things. We had to order a new pool pump that should be here next week, so that we can open our pool up. As of this moment it's a green swamp!

Blogging mojo...I didn't even see that post so I'm glad you linked back to it. I know what your going through...As a matter of fact I have struggled with the last few weeks as well. It's as though nothing great is happening to post about. No crafts or anything...it'll come back, just takes time! : )

Frost! Spring FAIL! I hope it warms up for you.
I've totally lost blogging mojo lately too...as you can probably tell by my lack of posts and comments. I hope you get it back!

Our weather is a bit chilly too, and hopefully the clouds will be gone soon.

We have been pulling a million weeds too...yuck...they are never ending here.

It sounds like you are getting really excited about FL! I'm excited for you :)

I am going to do the yard work this week. I am so worried that I also will have over 1000 weeds. But I say I need to get it done before Lila comes and it drives me crazy to look at the unkept flower beds.
Hope you have a great day!

It was sunny and cool here too. Florida? Lucky you. I love homemade pizza...but my kids get so cranky about eating pizza that is homemade. Sheesh. I love the way it tastes.
Would love to see pictures of the yard.
