Have I ever told you that I'm a planner? I am and proud of it. It's not that I can't live on the unplanned "wild" side but I don't like to if I can help it. I prefer to have things in order and planned out so that things are there when I need them.
This helpful planning tool came to me after we drove to Florida last year (sniff, because we're not going this year). I made a car kit with handy things for the kids so that we could have quick access and not have to search through bags. Well, I realized that it would be a great thing to have all of the time, so the container is still there and I replace things as needed.
Here's what's inside:
A first-aid kit

Here's my kids' car kit:
Here's what's inside:
I keep wipes (I swear I will use these until my kids go to college), diapers, Clorox wipes, snacks (I'm a little low), and some toys. I also have:
A first-aid kit
This way if we forget the diaper bag, we're OK...if a child gets hurt on the playground, we're covered...and if the restaurant doesn't have coloring books (some don't believe it or not), then we have something to keep the kids occupied.
This has really worked for me! What's in your car kit? If you want to see more things that work go here.

I am a planner by nature, but I'll tell you, I have nothing in my car for trouble. I really need to get at least some wipes and a First Aid Kit.
This is a great idea! So Smart.
We do the same thing. Only I have the things just stuffed under my seat. lol! Our car is small. But your box is a great idea!
Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog! I see you know my real life friend Meredith at Therapeutic Ramblings! Is that how you found me? After perusing your blog, it appears that you like organization and planning! So I'm going to start following you because I need that in my life BIGTIME! I'm actually going to an organization seminar by a Christian lady in our area (Donna Otto). I can't wait! I hope that she'll just give me a "how-to" for organizing my life!
What a great idea. I am also a planner and I don't think I would change that side of me for anything. I love the car kit. We have a kit full of toys that go to the races, stay in the car, go to the cafe. But this car kit would cover a lot of great things. Thanks for the idea, I will try to make one before racing seasons starts as that is when we travel the most. Have a great Wednesday!
This is such a great idea! I'm working on becoming more of planner. :)
The first part of your post could have definitely been written by me. I'm not much of a "wild side" type of gal.
This is so great because I kind of did the same thing after we took a road trip. I had packed a container of snacks to take with us, and it's been in our car ever since "just in case". I'm also in the middle of working on our homemade first aid kit. I'm not kidding! You and I are so much alike!!
Sorry I bombarded you with comments today. I'm WAY BEHIND on visiting some of my blogging buddies. I'll try not to go so long next time! ;)
What a great idea! I have a pretty good first aid kit, but not that handy car kit like you have. You are so smart! I will have to get one put together!
Have a great day!
