To Be or Not To Be?

I go back and forth about whether I like that I work daily or if I really want to stay at home. If my kids are screaming as I'm walking out the door I start to run and rejoice that I'm leaving...kidding. Most days, my desire is to be at home, caring for my kids, preparing my home and welcoming Rondell.

This post really made me want to be at home!

Isn't her list lovely? Man! Just when I'm studying in Numbers about the Israelites complaining and grumbling and I'm trying to work on being content.

Just thought I'd share. Do you like staying at home or working (whether you have kids or not)?

Hi Kelli - thanks for the link! I love staying home. It's so nice to be able to be with the kiddos. But when I'm having a bad day I dream of being a working mom and interacting with adults in a quiet environment.

Good post!

XOXO

I can relate more than you know. I have the days I'm glad I work and that I'm leaving and there are so many days I wish I was able to stay home.
I think if I lived in my perfect world, I'd work, but only part time a couple days a week. I like the routine and structure working brings to my life, but it's hard to be away.

I think there are pros and cons to both and it seems to be such a hot topic among women from either side. I think we all deserve praise regardless of if we stay home or not. Being a mother is the hardest, most rewarding job there is and we just need to support each other.
That being said, I think some people just have a personality and strengths that make them more suited to staying at home then others.
I happen to be off on Monday's with my kids even though I work full time and there are so many days where I just don't feel "cut out" to be a stay at home mom. I just don't think I'm very "good" at it.

I am at home, and have been for eight years... but the way the economy is going, I may go back to work. I will never say never. I do work from home a few afternoons a week, and I wish I could do that more...that would be perfect for me

I love being home and I wouldn't trade this oppurtunity for anything, but there are days that adult conversation would be nice too!

Have a great rest of your day!

I work part-time, and although I would LOVE to be home all the time, this works for us. I think the most important thing is to be content in your situation, although that's easier said than done!

I like being at home because I am always at work. I am getting a dog to cure that problem!

I've always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. When we had to choose our career path in eight grade, I wondered why that wasn't a socially acceptable option.

I'm thankful my husband has supported me and been willing to let me stay at home.

I am so with you on not knowing what you want to do work wise.
I stayed home with Trey the first year and half and then since we have no other kids we wanted him to be around some kiddos, so I started working part time and it was wonderful at first and Trey loves it but is such a strain on his little body. He just goes and goes and goes. Of course the sitter didn't always do things the way mommy wanted and so that was hard.
But now Trey is in a preschool and he loves it and they take very good care of him and he would good five days a week it I would let him.
So I guess I am not much help as Trey loves preschool and mommy just doesn't want him to grow up.
I hope you have a blessed day!

I LOVE being at home. It's the best job I've ever had. I'm probably going to be returning to work next school year when my youngest goes to first grade, and I'm feeling pretty sad about that. A little excited too, but I don't want this precious time to end.

Oh kelli...I think we've all struggled with that...I think the most important thing is to do what you feel is right for your family. I stay home...I want to stay home...I'd cry if I had to go back to work right now...but, that is my choice...I have friends who are choosing to go back to work...but their choice and I totally respect them for that...

It's so hard at times. My true heros are working moms...They work and still have to do all that I have to do when they get home. Really look at your pros and cons...you could always stay at home for a while and then go back to work...

You're a dear mama! I know that for sure!! good thoughts!

I stay at home and work part time from home. I love it. Although to be honest, I am quiet glad when Monday comes so that my oldest can go to school. It gives me a little break.

I am a SAHM and although when I was younger I probably would've told you I'd NEVER want to be that. LOL! I really like it, but I have some friends who've tried it and are going stir crazy. It's a personal choice and a hard one at that, because you certainly have to consider it against other things like the decrease in money to throw around.

Thanks for coming by my blog today and for leaving a comment, I really appreciated that. And yes, I'd have to say Noelle did a great job and put a lot of thought into it. She's just like that, a real sweetheart and one of my best blogging buddies. I just hope I can do as great of a job for her.

I do like staying at home. I do find that I have to make time to get out of the house and be with adults from time to time. But all in all, I really love it. :)

Wow! That was a great list she came up with! I have to say that even though it's a tough job at times, I LOVE staying home. I was a teacher before I became a stay-at-home mom and some days I feel it would be easier to teach 25 students than be a parent to 2 toddlers. But I really wouldn't trade it for anything. However, I do still like to find my creative outlets to do other things that keep me being ME...more than just a mom.
