~ I am thankful for the sunshine. I can't express enough how much I need the sun. This week the weather has been just beautiful and I have been eager to enjoy each and every minute. It has lifted my mood, I have been able to open windows, we have been able to play outside and yesterday I was able to do some yard cleaning. Priceless.
~ I am thankful for Isaiah 41:9-10. I came across it while reading Beth Moore's book and it was a wonderful reminder about God's presence in my life.
~ I am thankful for Rondell's motivating words to me yesterday. This encouraged me to get outside and tackle a major yard clean up project that I've been wanting to do for a while. I clipped all of the dead decorative grass that we have in our backyard. Usually the new grass just grows in between the dead grass and I end up getting frustrated by how it looks. I discovered (duh) that I could clip the dead stems before the new growth begins. Genius! It was a lot of work (I have to get our clippers sharpened), but well worth it.
See the brown "sticks" on the left of this picture...this is what I cut down, except that there was A LOT more and there's more on the other side of the deck.
This is what the grass looks like in bloom, but see the brown at the base...that's what would bother me. And actually this picture doesn't show how much the brown was incorporated into the green. It will look so much better now.
~ I am thankful that I got to stay at home one day this week and enjoy my kids and my home. It was refreshing.

There is a ton of great stuff in Isaiah! The study we are doing at church is focused on Isaiah! And I'm so glad the sun is shining...even though we have gotten a little bit of a cold front lately!
Love your thankfuls!
I am so very thankful for the sun. I have tried to sit in the sun while I'm in the house as much as possible. Hoping that this weekend I will get outside and relish in it!
Oh, the backyard...I have got to get in mine. We are just about finished with our bathroom so as soon as it's done I am there!
Love these gratitude posts! Always make me smile. :)
I know what you mean about the brown showing through the green. I started cutting back the dead stuff a couple of years ago. Before that I was afraid of doing something to kill the plants, but it works well!
Especially with my clematis. I cut it to within 6" of the ground every fall after the frost and it comes back beautifully each spring.
And YAY for Rondell! Love it when hubbies are encouraging! :)
I totally agree with you, just to get outside and be able to get your hands in the dirt does the body good. We are getting great weather now, I just hope it continues.
Have a great weekend!
Oh, I love the book of Isaiah, Kelli! I've read it many times, and am renewed even more each and every time I read it.
Aren't you glad spring is finally here? I know I sure am. I'm going to the mountains tomorrow to hike... something I've been wanting to do for MONTHS! I need my "alone time" with God among His beautiful creation.
I pray you are doing well. God bless you, my sweet friend! *huge hugs*
We have thoroughly enjoyed the weather this week! Too bad it's leaving next week..but so glad we had it for Spring Break! We have that grass too...and every Fall Dan just takes his weed eater and takes it all out! It's always a mess to clean up! I need to keep up with my verses too...I've changed it on my little chalkboard, but not as often as I started out. I will have to search through Isaiah! Have a great weekend!
I'm so glad things have warmed up out there in Ohio and you can get out into the yard!
I have a lot to catch up on and will be back later to do so.
xoxo
I love working outside in my yard. I was hoping to get some yard work done this weekend, but it is snowing right now!
It is so pretty...but I am not liking it. I just have to be positive and say that it is pretty b/c it isn't fun!
I hope you are having a great weekend :)
