Clearing The Clutter

Do you have areas in your house where things continue to pile up? I have four...our entertainment center, our fridge, our microwave, and the counter space next to the door to the garage. Last night Rondell and I cleared off all of those spaces and found a home for each and every item.

Here are two pictures of all of the stuff we pulled off of those surfaces and then put on our table to sort through:

I put items that belong either upstairs or in the basement in boxes so they could be carried to those locations and then put away (I still had my Valentine banner on the counter that needed to go into the basement...I know!).

I threw away a lot of stuff:

Now, it's all clean and all of the surfaces are clear of clutter:

Aaahhh!

Don't you love that! My counters are covered in clutter! I have a really bad habit of just moving the clutter around without ever really finding a home for it.

Nice! We have a small counter in the kitchen that really needs attention. It's always cluttered with stuff that needs to find a home. I'm still trying to catch up on the clutter control that I didn't do while I was pregnant and sick.

I know....aaaaaah! Now if only I could keep my counters that way! It's such a wonderful feeling! GREAT job!

yay for clear surfaces that are clutter free! i always manage to hide my clutter so well, that it takes me forever to clean it out because it's out of sight, out of mind. i need to change that!

Doesn't that feel GOOD??? :) Being on the run as much as we are, I often find clutter taking over the kitchen island (an easy place to deposit things as we come in from the garage). I'm constantly clearing it. I really need to find some way to create some organization in the small entry from the garage to the kitchen so that we can avoid the island. But it's just so doggone small!
Love that clutter-free table! :)

My kitchen counters get like that a lot! My formal dining room sometimes turns into a dumping ground because we don't ever eat in there....all my crafty stuff gets put in there! I have to just start throwing stuff way in order to get uncluttered!

I can relate to this one! Our kitchen counter beside the laundry room {which is where our car port door is}, always gets cluttered with Zack's receipts, mail, kids school papers and whatever else comes in that door. I have tried so hard to maintain the clutter and it just keeps coming! So frustrating.

Oh and then the shelves above the sink on either side of the window...Oh goodness they collect things too!

Isn't that a great feeling!? Our kitchen island is right near the entrance where we come in from the garage and I'm constantly throwing mail, school, stuff, etc, on it. Every time I clean it off I say I'm not going to do that again but you know how that goes!

That is the BEST feeling ever. I did the same thing last night and am ooh'ing and aah'ing over my clean counters and desk still!

Ugh...yes I do. My buffet table, and my kitchen table. And my coffee table, although that's not my fault, it's all Evan's stuff on that one. I am *constantly* decluttering these areas for my own peace of mind!
Your decluttered zones look fantastic Kelli!

Wow, don't you just love the feeling of cleaning out the different spaces. We always seem to pile stuff up on the laundry room counter. I think it is because we can shut the door and forget it is there. We will have to use your inspiration to get to cleaning!
Have a fabulous.

Wow. What an inspiration. We have a few of those areas too. I just can't seem to keep them clean.

Great job at clearing that clutter! Send some of those cleaning vibes over the UnscriptedLife way.

You need someone like me who's OCD. I would help you get rid of any clutter you have. ;) I hate, Hate, HATE clutter. It literally gets on my nerves. The kids call me "Monica" from Friends. I'm constantly cleaning and everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING has to be in a certain place. And, I will know as soon as I walk in if it's been moved. Oh, my gosh!! I AM MONICA!! :O LOL

Love ya!
