Monthly Craft Challenge - Fall

I am finally participating in one of Heidi's Craft Challenges. This month's theme is Fall crafting. I was excited to create something to add to my Fall decorations. I got my idea from Katie (here) who got it from here. I didn't do exactly what they did but I used the basic principle.

I bought this...what I thought was chip board and it was kind of like chip board but with a more rubbery texture, not as stiff as chip board. Hard to explain. It served its purpose.

Then I took some coordinating paper and cut out pieces to fit the "chip board."

I used Mod Podge (man, this stuff is great) and glued the paper to the "chip board."

I cut out letter to spell FALL using my Cricut and glued them on top of the paper. Then I sealed it with more Mod Podge. The hardest thing about using Mod Podge is waiting for it to dry.

I added some embellishments and then tied the pieces together with ribbon.

I tied ribbon on the top and hung it on my mantel. Our mantel is made of wood so I just used tacks to hang it. (please excuse the glare)

So, there you have it...my first craft challenge product. To see more go to Heidi's blog.

So cute, Kelli! I can't wait to actually try out the MP. I just envision me with glue and Kam reaching for it, then smearing it everywhere. She's been ignoring my need for her to nap, so it's making for long days ;)

Kelli! How exciting that this is your first craft challenge and you have created such a cute piece of Fall decor. I love your take on the project and that you made it your own. How great that you got to use your Cricut! ;) Thanks for joining in and being a part of the fun. All of this crafty inspiration is great for the soul. :) Blessings, friend!

So cute! I still haven't got to break out my cricut because my to-do list is so long. Maybe by next week! You did a great job on that!

I love it Kelli and I am so glad my project inspired you to get crafting and using that fabulous Cricut of yours!

What product did you end up buying, was it grungeboard? Cause I've heard the same kind of thing about that, that it's more flexible.

Anyway, I am sorry I haven't been as regular with my visits lately. We've been going through some challenges around here that have taken most of my attention. But in the scariest news, I have been to the doctor and back and that problem seems to be fixing itself, thankfully!
